Grace Masaoka

Choreography

Grace (she/her) and Zahra (she/her) have been dancing for over 10 years and are finishing up their third year teaching at WDC. Throughout the years they have had the privilege of training under incredible teachers and groups, and are currently members of Malicious Vixens; a Seattle-based dance collective of Asian American womxn. They’ve performed locally as well as across the greater PNW region (VSDF, Cascadia, Paradiso, Asian Art Museum, Wing Luke Museum, On The Boards and more), and you may catch a glimpse of them in a few Macklemore and Scarlet Parke videos. Both have trained in several dance forms that originated from the African diaspora such as Hip Hop, Waacking/Whacking, Vogue, and Locking; all of which heavily influence their style. Grace and Zahra’s class focuses on learning choreography with an emphasis on performance, movement quality and feeling good in your body!
